How to Prepare for Dumpster Delivery

1. Choose a level, accessible spot

Pick a firm, level surface such as a concrete or asphalt driveway. Avoid soft ground after rain, septic drain fields and areas directly under low tree limbs or utility lines. The truck needs about 14 feet of vertical clearance while unloading.

2. Clear the approach

Move vehicles, trailers, basketball goals and trash cans out of the way. The truck backs straight in and needs roughly 60 feet of clear approach for a 20 yard or larger container.

3. Protect the surface

We bring boards to place under the container's rails and wheels. If you have decorative pavers or a freshly sealed driveway, mention it when ordering so the driver is prepared.

4. Check for permits

Driveway placement on private property never requires a permit in Smyrna or surrounding cities. Street placement usually does. Handle it before delivery day to avoid a citation.

5. Mark the spot

If you cannot be home, leave a cone, chalk mark or note showing exactly where you want the container. Our drivers follow marked instructions carefully.

6. Plan your loading

Have a rough loading plan: heavy items on the bottom and spread evenly, bulky items broken down, and nothing above the top rail. Review our list of accepted materials so you are not left with items that cannot go in.
